The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's (NCMEC) Exploited Child Unit was created through a mandate by the U.S. Congress that authorized a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Department of the Treasury and NCMEC for the establishment of this unit. ECU is a resource center and clearinghouse for the community and law enforcement.
