Board of Directors Diane Cranley - President and Chairman of the BoardDiane is the founder of TAALK and was selected as a Director, President and CEO because of her personal commitment to the cause as well as her extensive business experience. In 2007, Diane discovered through her daughters’ own courageous testimony that they were victims of sexual abuse. This began her own confrontation of personal abuse over 33 years before, and the mission to touch the lives of past victims, and to save the lives of potential future victims of abuse. Diane's twenty-year career in sales provided her an opportunity to work with high level executives across the country developing solutions to align with their strategic business initiatives. Her love for public speaking and business development are invaluable and contribute to the success of the organization.
Svava Brooks - Vice PresidentSvava is the co-founder of Blátt áfram which is an organization founded in 2004 and dedicated to preventing and educating Icelanders about child sexual abuse. The organization has successfully raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and created a variety of sexual abuse prevention programs, both utilizing and working with other organizations such as Darkness to Light in South Carolina and Kids on the Block in Washington, DC, as well as creating her own prevention training/talks that target adults and teenagers. She has presented these programs to thousands of adults and teenagers in schools and private organizations. She is considered an expert on the issue of child sexual abuse in Iceland and in cooperation with the Child Protection Agency of Iceland, annually since 2006, has served as organizer of a conference called Beyond the Blame: Focus on healing, education and prevention! Prevention the best way! Svava led the organization in Iceland using a similar strategy to TAALK’s. This program has proven to be very successful and the organization has been accepted in Iceland as a leading authority on the issue. She joined TAALK in 2009 and brings with her a wealth of experience and a desire to see change in the United States. Born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland, Svava is currently living in San Diego, CA with her husband and children.
Sarah Flatley - Treasurer and Interim Secretary
Sarah was selected as a Director and Treasurer because of her extensive experience in finance and accounting as well as her network within wealthy circles in California. Sarah is a licensed CPA who began her career at KPMG and later served in finance management at several small and large companies in the areas of healthcare and entertainment. These included Syntex Pharmaceuticals, Molecular Dynamics, Catapult Entertainment and, most recently, she served as Vice President of Finance at Pixar Animation Studios. Sarah currently sits on the Board of Trustees as Treasurer of the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center.
Anna Bryson - Member-at-LargeAnna is a successful corporate executive with experience managing multi-million dollar budgets and hundreds of people. Anna is currently a Trustee in the Capistrano Unified School District which is the 10th largest district in the State of California. Anna also brings a strong financial background to the Board through her current role as the Director of Program Services/Executive Assistant for the Orange County Treasurer-Tax Collector and her past experience as the Assistant Treasurer for the Republican Party of Orange County and the Chairman of Budget and Expenditures for the California Republican Party. Anna has been active in the community for many years including involvement with the Assistance League, Beta Foster Care, Beverly Sills Guild of the Orange County Center for the Performing Arts, Hospice Care, and the American Heart Association. Anna served for 8 years on the board of Catholic Charities in Orange County and currently serves on the Advisory Board of John Paul the Great University in San Diego.
Dr. Michael A. Moodian - Member-at-LargeMichael was selected as a Director because of his expertise in organizational leadership and his extensive connections within Orange County. He is an assistant professor of social science at Chapman University. He holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University and a master’s degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton. His doctoral dissertation research focused on the intercultural competence levels of postgraduate students throughout various stages of study. Dr. Moodian has contributed to numerous books, academic journals, and other publications. He is the editor of Contemporary Leadership and Intercultural Competence, a book available from Sage Publications. In addition to his scholarly endeavors, Dr. Moodian serves as a consultant in a variety of areas, including leadership development and communication skills. He is a certified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory and Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory. His memberships include the International Academy for Intercultural Research and the World Affairs Council of Orange County. |
